  • Two words - Field trip!
If this feel like deja vu, you’re not mistaken!
Yes, our upcoming Sin City Woodworkers meeting will be hosted by Braxton Wirthlin, who’s excited to show off his NEW shop space located in the heart of the city, right next door to Cheetas.   Our meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 18 at the normal time - 7:00.
Besides showing off a few current pieces he’s working on (like this seven-foot tall bug zapper hanging from a giant metal tree) Braxton is hoping get some good advice (and do a little brainstorming!) about shop layout and efficiency. Have a good shop tip to share? Bring it on!
He’s recently moved into a shop that he’s sharing with a metal worker, and they’ve been collaborating on some awesome projects lately,  including creating for the Mob Museum, building tables for a local new restaurant, and much more.
Braxton is one of our local hidden woodworking gems, and his Timber Manufacturing YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9I3Vn0EtNbds4HXuOwaHcg)  has over 4000 subscribers. His popular videos are earning him a solid place in the online woodworking world, but better yet - he’s a native Las Vegan, and a stay at home dad by day and a woodturner and furniture builder by night. On top of all his other talents, he’s also one of the hosts of the Woodturners Anonymous Podcast.  (http://wtapodcast.com
    Whew!
His shop is located at 2015 S Highland Ave. It’s about a block up Highland from Nevada Carbide. (See the map above) Braxton suggests driving around to the back of the building, where there’s plenty of parking. It’s the first building from the Highland side and the 3rd back from the Western side.

    As always -  BYO chairs.

    See you Wednesday at 7:00!
