You're invited to our holiday bash...

Sin City Woodworkers Follow the trail of sawdust to our next meeting... Put down your chisels, take off your tool belt, brush off the sawdust - and get ready for our annual Sin City Woodworkers Christmas Party, where we’ll celebrate a productive year and toast the coming New Year!  Sin City Woodworkers, a Vegas valley social and networking group committed to serious (and not so serious!) woodworking discussions, meet on the third Wednesday of each month to share everything from techniques and ideas, to information about local suppliers and much more. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, at 7:00. We’ll be providing some munchies and libations, and - as usual - feel free to bring a guest!  They say that Las Vegas is a tough city to make friends in - but anyone who attends one of our monthly meetings knows that we’ve formed some great connections within our group. We’re heading into our tenth year of sharing tips and techniques, failures and successes, and best of all - new friendships. This year’s celebration features our holiday building contest - the 2x4 challenge. As always, we’ll be giving out cash prizes for the top entries, and we’re hoping for some cool designs! If you’re a dues paying member, or if you’ve given the main presentation at one of our meetings during the year, your name will be in the drawing to win cash prizes this year. (We’ll also be giving away some freebies that we’ve collected over the year!) After paying a few bills with the monies we collect, and paying for the holiday party - we return every cent to our dues paying members, so please consider becoming a member next year! By the way - if you have something to donate to the drawing,  please bring it with you to our party.  Maybe someone gave you a woodworking book that you already own, or have some duplicate items sitting around your shop - we will add this to our giveaway table. Andrew and Nik Moore of Reclaimed Secrets have GENEROUSLY donated a gorgeous set of bookmatched live edge slabs - big enough to make a dining room table. These are huge and amazing, and will make an incredible piece for your home.  Make a table... or a couple of benches..or a few end tables... or a headboard... or... Or  - you can make something out of them and sell it!    Ch-Ching! We’ll be selling raffle tickets for the slabs.  Tickets will be 1/$5,  3/$10 or 7/$20…. so bring some cash and help build up our funds for the coming year! As always, our party will be held at Studio: Wood It Is!, 2267 West Gowan, unit 106 in North Las Vegas. The public is welcome to attend the meeting, but remember -  there are a limited number of chairs in the woodshop.
